Your patient is sharing this information because s/he is interested in the MEDFITNESS Program or is already participating in the MEDFITNESS Program. MEDFITNESS offers highly structured Exercise Programs that provide supervised strength training. The following information is provided to help you manage your patient's medical conditions while they participate in the MEDFITNESS Program.
The MEDFITNESS Program
Our Program meets the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans set by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. It includes two supervised full-body Strength Workouts per week and recommends building up to 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity (e.g., walking, biking, swimming, etc.) over a week.
The MEDFITNESS Workout
The MEDFITNESS Workout uses the ACSM's (American College of Sports Medicine) evidence-based guidelines for Strength Training. Clients complete their workouts under the direct supervision of a MEDFITNESS Trainer. Each workout includes eight exercises that target the abdomen, upper and lower legs, chest, back, shoulders, and arms.
Clients rotate between the A-Line Workout (Abdominal Crunch, Leg Curl, Leg Press, Chest Press, Compound Row, Lateral Raise, Triceps Extension, and Biceps Curl), the B-Line Workout (Abdominal Crunch, Leg Extension, Seated Dip, Pull Down, Overhead Press, Lumbar Spine Extension, Hip Abduction, and Hip Adduction), and the C-Line Workout (Torso Rotation, Neck Extension, Neck Flexion, Shoulder Shrug, Seated Calf, Pullover, Leg Press, Arm Cross (shoulder flexion), and Rear Delt (shoulder extension). Each exercise is performed slowly and controlled to reduce the risk of injury.
MEDX Rehabilitative Exercise Machines
The MEDFITNESS Workout uses MEDX Rehabilitative Exercise Machines. These machines incorporate compound weight stacks that allow for resistance increases in two-pound increments. This feature allows for selecting an appropriate resistance level regardless of the individual's strength.
Each MEDX Machine is adjusted, allowing clients to exercise target muscle groups through a pain-free range of motion. Machine settings can be customized to manage musculoskeletal injuries and limitations.
